Short answer: a new or replacement asphalt driveway in Orlando often costs an estimated $4–$7 per square foot including tear-out, about $3,840–$6,720 for a 24×40 ft two-car driveway. Larger, thicker or more complex driveways can run higher.
What goes into a driveway that lasts
- A sound, compacted base. Most driveway failures start underneath.
- Slope away from the house so rain drains to the street or yard, not the garage.
- Clean, compacted edges that don't crumble into the grass.
- The right thickness for cars, plus extra where trucks or RVs park.
Replace or resurface?
If the driveway is faded and lightly cracked but solid, resurfacing or sealcoating may be enough. If it has potholes, sunken areas or widespread cracking, replacement is the better value. We'll show you which on site.
The apron and permits
The part of a driveway that crosses the sidewalk and meets the street sits in the public right-of-way. The City of Orlando and Orange County both handle that through a right-of-way permit. We take care of the paperwork when your job touches the apron.
After it's paved
Give new asphalt a few days before parking on it, keep heavy vehicles and kickstands off the edges for the first weeks, and plan a first sealcoat once it has cured, usually within the first year in Florida heat.

Questions
How long until I can park on a new driveway?
Usually a few days. In peak summer heat we may advise longer. You'll get a time before we start.
Do you remove the old driveway?
Yes. Tear-out and haul-away are part of a replacement quote.
Can you widen my driveway?
Usually, yes, subject to setbacks and any right-of-way approval at the street.
